Well as life would have it, I sold 3 does in milk to downsize my herd a bit when some unexpected life changes occurred.  I did not need the milk so it seemed the right thing to do.  Well wouldn't you know it I pick up some milk customers and needed milk.  I've been watching Royal Highland does for years as I really like her lines, but her does in milk sell FAST!!!  I've been debating trying to find another doe since I needed more milk and Diamond became available.  I debated for several days weighing the pros and cons.  I decided to go ahead and bring her into the herd.  She is already in the dairy line up with the state of Idaho so all was good there.  I picked up her and Cori yesterday.  I hate to bring in a single goat as it is often hard on them and sweet Cori will make a nice addition to the herd.  So welcome Diamond and Cori!  I'm excited to add your lovely genetics into my herd of minis.

Sky kidded last night @7:30 with a beautiful doeling and a little buck that looks just like her.  She did a great job and is a very good mother.  The babies are nursing on just one side so I'll put her up on the milk stand in a bit and even her out and see how that goes.  She did very well letting me help them get their first drink last night so hopeful there.  She looks like she will have a very nice udder and easy to milk teats.  So excited as these are the first babies born here from one of my bucks.  I was hoping Rowdy would throw his color, but he didn't.  They both look to 

Poor Muffin has a sore teat.  I guess with 3 little savages attacking it is bound to happen.  I have been treating her a couple of times a day and putting a nice udder balm on her sore.  She isn't wanting the babies to nurse so I had to put her on the stand and hold her leg.  I felt really bad, but they won't take a bottle and I was worried as I hadn't seen them eating.  She let them eat with some persuasion. Thankfully they are eating hay, fresh grass growing in the field, and drinking some water so they are fine during the day.  I'm sure she will be relived when it is weaning time.  All I can say is "I'm glad I'm not a goat."  :) 

Well this Spring has been a busy one for sure.  This is my first kidding season and I have been blessed greatly.  So far all the births have gone smoothly and I have healthy momma's and babies.  I have been blessed with 7 beautiful little girls and 2 gorgeous little bucks.  They are so much fun to watch play or just go out and snuggle.  Today I met with the nice family that will be purchasing Muffin's two little girls.  I couldn't be more happy with the home they will be going to.  The little girls had a great time playing with the goats and are excited to get them home.   Sure makes it easier when you know your babies will be loved.
